Mackay Meteors Signs Bryce Washington for 2019 QBL Season
The Mcdonald’s Meteors are proud to announce their second import signing for the 2019 QBL season with the addition of 6ft 7 Power Forward, Bryce Washington. The power forward will arrive in Mackay in early April in preparation for the QBL season ahead and the Meteors are looking forward to his arrival and what he can add to the group.
Washington’s Basketball History
Washington completed his senior year at the University of Louisiana @ Lafayette in 2018 and averaged 10.4 points and 10.5 rebounds per game in his senior year. Bryce was named to the All Sun Belt Conference First Team and was the only Sun Belt Conference player to average a double double in his last 2 season of college. Washington was also 2nd all-time in rebounds per game at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette behind Shaun Long ( New Zealand Breakers NBL) with 1102 career rebounds.
Washington is extremely excited about getting to Mackay and suiting up with the McDonald’s Meteors and said, “ I am blessed to have this opportunity to continue to play basketball with the McDonald’s Mackay Meteors. I will work extremely hard to help our team win games during the 2019 season and can’t wait to arrive in Mackay and prepare for the season ahead.”
Meteors Head Coach Confident with Washington in the Team
Mackay Meteors Head Coach Jason Borg is extremely confident at what Bryce will bring to the table for the Meteors this season. “We believe Bryce will give us a great presence inside the paint and provide us with the rebounding and scoring punch the team needs during the 2019 QBL season”. “We like the energy and determination that Bryce plays with believing that he will be a great fit with the group that we have in 2019. We are eagerly awaiting his arrival in early April”, Borg said.
