Jason Chainey – Women’s Head Coach Logan Thunder
“Round 10 saw us at home against Toowoomba who have been challenged a little by some injuries during the year and haven’t been able to turn some good games into wins, although we knew they would still be very tough. Our girls are still getting our chemistry right and trying to understand our systems, so for us the focus is very much on getting better every week. I think over the past couple of games that is starting to happen, hopefully this in turn will also result in some wins and confidence.
“We came out strong and shot the ball well against Toowoomba which is a bit of a first for us this year, however the challenge for us is to ensure that we maintain a consistent defensive pressure and ensure that is turned into points at the other end of the floor
“I have been impressed by the level of players in the league this year with each team boasting a very good solid core and these players tend to turn up every single week. The teams that I think stand out though this year are Rocky, Townsville and Mackay, these teams are well coached and have a good team approach and I would be surprised if one of these three aren’t picking up the trophy at the end of the year. For us though, we will keep working on our stuff and make sure we learn, develop, get better and hopefully turn that into wins.”
