In a fantastic piece of recruitment news, the McDonalds Port City Power women are excited to announce the signing of Briana Bailey for QBL season 2018.
Bailey comes to the Power after a well-recognized junior and senior career with the Rockhampton Cyclones. Bailey is an up-tempo guard, who has great playmaking ability on the offensive end. Bailey is a multiple time QBL championship winner and will bring that experience to the Power program in 2018. Bailey was a representative for Basketball Queensland’s states teams throughout the entirety of her junior career and as a result, was afforded the opportunity to play against the country’s best players year in and year out.
In signing with the McDonalds Port City Power, Bailey expressed her excitement by saying “Signing with the Power was an easy choice for me. It was a chance for a new atmosphere. new coaching staff, new teammates and a new role to fill. I’m thoroughly excited to be joining the Power family and look forward to the start of the season”.
With mutual excitement, Coach Ray Cooper stated “Bri is a really good piece to our recruiting puzzle for 2018. She is a proven contributor at the QBL level and has played on a number of winning senior teams. I think she has been a little undervalued in her time in the QBL so far and I expect her to benefit from an increased role, with some additional creative freedom. Whilst her percentages last year may be a little misleading, we know Bri is an exceptional shooter and trust she will demonstrate that ability for us this season. We are confident that Bri can be a very impactful player for us and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with her this year”
