Long-time Toowoomba Mountaineers supporter Clive Berghofer says it will be even easier to secure seats at home games with club membership.
“This is the first time the Mountaineers have made club memberships available to individuals, which means I can secure our seats to watch and support our home-grown team,” Clive says.
“The Mountaineers have been part of the wider Toowoomba region for half a century and it is exciting to join with them as we begin the second half of the century with a high-calibre player line-up. Everyone needs to come down and grab a seat to support the team through 2018.”
New this year is a program that allows fans to attend training sessions and events as well as the nine home games over the season, in a move welcomed by die- hard supporters. Toowoomba’s Barry Raftery is the acknowledged club stalwart, having taken out the first membership 50 years ago in 1967. He is excited by the changes.
“The Toowoomba Mountaineers have played incredible basketball and excited fans around Queensland for the last 50 years,” Barry says.
“Having individual memberships means the game and the team will be more easily enjoyed by our stalwart supporters and new fans.”
The 2018 season kicks off with Game 1 on Friday 27 April with the Mountaineers taking on the Cairns Marlins at USQ Clive Berghofer Recreation Centre, 20 Baker St, Darling Heights.
