Titus Robinson Signs for the McDonald’s Meteors for 2018 Season

The McDonald’s Meteors have signed the second of their restricted positions, securing Titus Robinson for the 2018 QBL season.

The 6ft 7inch forward has committed to the team for 1 year and will arrive once his playing commitments in Luxembourg are completed.

“With TJ Diop and Luke Harvey not returning in 2018, we needed to ensure we strengthened our front court and we believe we have done that with the signing of Titus”, said Head Coach, Cameron Tragardh. “Titus will be our rim protector and is an extremely versatile defender, using his great athleticism to defend a number of different positions on the floor.  Offensively, Titus has to the ability to finish above the rim and his mobility will prove difficult to handle for opposing big men in the league.” We are extremely excited at what Titus is going to bring to this team and looking forward to him joining the group.”

Robinson last played in Australia in 2014 in the Big V with Sherbrooke and also played with the Mt Gambier Pioneers in the SEABL league in 2013.  Titus has been playing in Europe for the past 3 years and is really looking forward to his second stint in Australia and can’t wait to take his position with the McDonald’s Meteors.

“I am very grateful for the opportunity Cameron and Wade have given me and can’t wait to join the team after I’m finished here in Luxembourg. I have heard great things about the program and heard that North Queensland is a wonderful place to live”, Titus said. “I have seen how successful the program has been over the last 10 years, and I am looking forward to helping the team continue that success in 2018.”

Business Development Manager, Wade Rebetzke said, “We are extremely excited about what Titus will bring to our group and we know we are getting a great player and even more importantly a quality person. With the departure of TJ Diop and with Luke Harvey going overseas next year, we knew we had to strengthen our front court and we believe Titus is the man for the job.” We are looking forward to his arrival.
