Meteorettes Sign Second Import Ruvanna Campbell for 2018 QBL Season

The Global Product Search Meteorettes are proud to announce that they have signed 6ft 2in power forward Ruvanna Campbell for the 2018 QBL Season. Ruvanna will fill the second restricted spot for the Meteorettes and will add much needed punch in the front court for the team leading into the QBL season.

Campbell had a distinguished college career playing at UIC,  finishing her college career as the Horizon League and UIC Career leader in rebounds with 1287. Campbell also ranked second in scoring at UIC career scoring and was named in 3 x Horizon All League Defensive Teams and the All Horizon League Team twice.

Global Product Search Meteorettes Head Coach, Ian Haughton was extremely happy that he has been able to secure the services of Ruvanna for the season ahead. “We did see a need to strengthen our front court ahead of the 2018 season and we believe that Ruvanna is going to fill that role extremely well for us.” Ruvanna is an extremely mobile big that runs the floor extremely well and will give the group a great inside presence and scoring ability either inside or outside the paint.” Her ability on the defensive end is also what impresses us and we believe she will change a lot of shots with her length and will be a great rebounder for the group.”

Ruvanna has been playing in Italy most recently and is excited to be coming to play in Australia. “When the team reached out to me, I was extremely excited to be given the opportunity to come to Mackay and play. I am looking forward to meeting my new teammates and coaching staff and can’t wait to get on the floor for the Global Product Search Meteorettes.” I have had some good chats with Ian about the role I will play in Mackay and I think that our style of play will suit my game and I am looking forward to helping the team, any way I can.“ Campbell said.

Campbell will arrive in Mackay in early April to get  ready for the season opener on the 28th of April against the Logan Thunder.

Below are some of Ruvanna Campbell’s highlights from her college career.
