Indigenous All Stars Secure Trans-Tasman Series Victory

The ‘Quest in Mackay’ Australian Indigenous All Stars have gained bragging rights for the next 12-months, following their 2015 #MackayPride Trans-Tasman Basketball Series win against the New Zealand Maori National Team played in Mackay.  After dropping game one of the series 93-82, the All Stars bounced back to secure victories in game two (107-99) and game three (93-89).

Congratulations to the Rockhampton Cyclones, who have taken out their first QBL Women’s championship title, after defeating Gladstone Port City Power 2-0 in the Grand Finals best-of-three series.

Mackay Meteors Secure 2015 Men’s QBL Championship

Congratulations to the Mackay Basketball Meteors – 2015 QBL Men’s Champions after taking out a thrilling Game 3 decider 88-86 win over Brisbane Capitals!

Mackay took out Game 1 with an 82-76 victory on Friday night (Adekponya 21), with Brisbane levelling the series on Saturday night with an 85-73 win (Carter, 19)

Braydon Hobbs took out the Grand Finals Series MVP award, with a game-high 22 points helping Mackay get over the line in the third and final match.
